Wonderwoman,
I am on dialup and have tried skype. The text chat feature works really well. As far as I know, the voice chat option will only work well for those fortunate enough to have high speed.

thanks blake,
there seems to be more breakup on windows messenger than there use to be on msn messenger 5.0, and I don't know why. I talk to a man in canada, and he has a new computer, just as I do, and he's on high speed cable I think, so he shouldn't be breaking up at all, but I've talked to him twice on this new computer, and both times, every other word breaks up. The first time I talked to him on this computer, he was talking to me on windows messenger, and another lady on skype as well. I could hear her, but she was rather weak, since I was hearing her through his skype connection. But after she ended the windows messenger voice conversation with the other person and called me direct on windows messenger, she was breaking up really bad. Anyone been having breakup issues with windows messenger or msn messenger lately?
